What to Expect from Our Sessions
01. Warm Welcome
02. Gentle Discovery
03. Cultivating Tools
04. Stronger Ties
We start with a no pressure, casual consultation, your child is welcome to join. This can be in person, phone or virtual.
Through play, art, and conversation, we identify strengths and areas of growth without the clinical feel.
We build a kit of thoughtful interventions and coping strategies tailored specifically to your child's personality.
The end goal is lasting connection and emotional resilience that extends beyond our time in the office.
Common Questions
How do I know if my child needs therapy?
Therapy can be beneficial if your child is struggling with persistent emotional or behavioral challenges that interfere with their daily life, school performance, or social relationships. If you notice significant changes in mood, appetite, or sleep, a consultation can provide clarity on best next steps.
What can I expect during the first session?
The initial intake session is tailored to your families needs. Parents or caregivers are welcome to join to help ease the child into the therapeutic setting. When the child is acclimated, we will begin meeting one on one. A parent phone call or session is usually held shortly after the first session to get more feedback and insight on your child's development and concerns.
How long does the therapy process take?
Every child's journey is unique. Some families find significant relief within a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support as they navigate complex developmental transitions. We will regularly check in to evaluate progress and adjust our approach.
Is therapy confidential for my child or teen?
Trust is the most essential part of therapy, especially for adolescents. While I provide parents with general progress updates and themes we are touching on, I keep specific details private to maintain a safe space for your child—unless there is a concern about safety.
